Kayak Handline: Setup & Safety

	1		Tie a loop with a bowline knot. Anchor the handline to the watercraft.

	2		Make a small loop in the rope at the maximum stretch length of the shock absorber

	3		Attach the shock absorber to the loop and anchor it as well.

	4		Attach your fishing leader to the swivel and fish!

Select your leader strength such that it will break before the pull on the handline will endanger your small craft.
Never allow the handline to get wrapped around any part of your body.
Fish caught on handlines are usually very lively when brought on board. Be careful.
